Face Lift Surgery Types
– Standard Face Lift and Neck Lift
Surgery is performed with incisions hidden in the hair, towards the front and back of the ear. Excess fat on the face, chin and neck is removed and shaped. Excess skin is removed and the skin is stretched.
– Mini Face Lift
It is done with fewer incisions. Generally, it is preferred for people who do not need treatment in the middle part of their face. It provides the gathering of the area called “Jowl” (jaw line). Surgery is performed with an incision in front of the ear. It is usually applied with local anesthesia, the recovery period is shorter.
– First of all, you should clearly explain your aesthetic concerns and expectations from this surgery. Consulting with your doctor about your expectations and wishes regarding this surgery will increase your satisfaction afterwards.
– If you have regular medications, consult your doctor.
– If you smoke, you must quit at least 10 days before surgery. Because smoking makes it difficult to heal postoperative tissues and stitch scars.
– If you are taking medications such as blood thinners and aspirin, consult your doctor. You will be asked not to use these medications for a while.
Facelift aesthetics is an operation performed under general anesthesia and takes approximately 2-3 hours. If it is to be combined with other surgeries (eg eyelid), the operation time may be prolonged. You will need to stay at the hospital for 1 night.
After the operation, the face is wrapped with a bandage to reduce edema. A drain may be placed under the chin.
– Dissolvable stitches will dissolve on their own.
– 1-2 days later drains will be taken off
– You can return to work approximately 10 days after the operation.
– It takes 1-2 months for the swelling to disappear after the surgery.
– You should not smoke as it affects wound healing negatively.
