In arm lift surgery, the shape and size of the incision is determined according to the excess fat and skin tissue in the arm. Usually, this incision is made on the back of the arm where it can be easily hidden. It can extend from the armpit to the elbow. Excess fat tissue is removed and the arm is shaped.
It can be applied together with liposuction in some patients.
The result is tighter and more beautiful looking arms.
Arm Lift Operation Process
Arm lift operation is an operation performed under general anesthesia and takes approximately 2-3 hours. You need to stay in the hospital for 1 night after the operation.
– First of all, you should clearly explain your aesthetic concerns and expectations from this surgery. Consulting with your doctor about your expectations and wishes regarding this surgery will increase your satisfaction afterwards.
– If you have regular medications, consult your doctor.
– If you smoke, you must quit at least 10 days before surgery. Because smoking makes it difficult to heal postoperative tissues and stitch scars.
– If you are taking medications such as blood thinners and aspirin, consult your doctor. You will be asked not to use these medications for a while.
-The stitches will dissolve on their own.
– Post-operative 1-week rest is recommended. Afterwards, you can consult your doctor and go to work and continue your normal life as long as the working conditions are not severe.
– A special compression garment will be worn for you after the operation. This garment is to minimize edema.
– It is important to keep the area clean and dry after the surgery.
– You should use the medications given by your doctor regularly and apply your dressing as in the training given to you after surgery.
– Especially in the first week, you should avoid forceful movements and heavy lifting.
– You should not smoke as it affects wound healing negatively.
Postoperative Recovery Period
Arm lift is a surgical operation performed with an incision. For this reason, the care you will do to your stitches is important. Small traces may remain, but it is not visible from the outside since the operation will be performed from a place where the stitches can be hidden. You can easily wear short-sleeved clothes after the operation. You can turn back to your normal life in a very shortly time after arm lift surgery. However, heavy physical activities are not recommended for at least three weeks.
