A small stomach is created by cutting the upper part of the stomach with the laparoscopic method in the gastric bypass surgery. Then the lower part of the small intestine is attached to this part that has been made smaller. This way, both the amount of food being eaten is reduced and a significant part of the stomach is bypassed and the foods are directed to the lower part of the small intestine.
The surgery is made through the laparoscopic method.
It takes 2-2,5 hours.
No catheter is used for the stomach and urine.
The patient is walked after 4-5 hours.
Liquid foods are started to be taken after 1 day.
Duration of hospital stay is 3 days on average.
The patient is discharged from the hospital after dietitian’s training and the patient is included in a follow-up program of 2 years.
