Gynecomastia Stages
Gynecomastia generally consists of 4 types of stages.
– There is a slight growth in the breast, there is no sagging.
– The breast is larger, but there is no sagging.
– The breast is large and there is sagging.
– The breast is like a real female breast and there is sagging.
Gynecomastia cannot be treated with medication and sports. Medical and surgical solutions should be used. The treatment is decided according to the stages of gynecomastia. If the patient is in the early stages, liposuction or laser methods may be sufficient, while if the patient is in advanced stages, excess tissue should be removed by surgical method.
Male patients who think their breasts are larger than normal and have sagging breasts may consider gynecomastia surgery.
Patients to be treated with liposuction undergo this operation under local anesthesia. After this procedure, there is usually no need to stay in the hospital.
Surgical procedures are applied to patients in the 2nd stage and in patients in whom liposuction is not sufficient and the mammary gland needs to be removed, or patients in the 3rd and 4th stages. Gynecomastia surgery is an operation that takes approximately 1-1.5 hours under general anesthesia. You have to stay in the hospital for 1 night.
The breast is cut in a half-moon shape and the mammary gland is removed. However, in some patients, the skin over the breast tissue can also be removed. In addition, when necessary, the nipple is also reduced and stitched where it should be, providing a completely flat rib cage appearance.

Postoperative Recovery Period
Gynecomastia is a surgical operation performed with an incision. In the early postoperative period, there may be swelling and bruising in the breast. These are temporary and disappear in 2-5 weeks. Use the medication prescribed by your doctor. The scars will begin to disappear after a while. However, a thin line may remain. It does not cause a visual problem in hairy rib cages.
